Central Airlines Pilot Hat Badge 1st Issue
1934-1936
Central Airlines was formed on May 31, 1934 with a route from Washington, D.C. to Detroit, via
Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Akron, Ohio and they initially flew 5 new Stinson Model As. Central merged with Pennsylvania Airlines in 1936 to form Pennsylvania Central Airlines. That airline changed it's name to Capital Airlines in 1948 and then merged with United Airlines in 1961.
There were at least two airlines named Central Airlines. A Texas based airline merged with Frontier Airlines.
